Three Events

On Friday 23 October I’m interviewing my old friend, Peter James, in Frome’s Assembly Rooms where Hunting Raven Books is hosting a Crime/Cream Tea. I haven’t interviewed that many writers yet and Peter is certainly the biggest name, with 21 Sunday Times Bestsellers and an ITV series. He also, very kindly read the manuscript of my last book and gave me some tips and a very nice review – some of which I used on the cover. Here’s where to buy tickets for the event plus cream tea, or you can add in a hardback copy of the book as well. We’ll be talking about his career, the influences for his Detective Superintendent Roy Grace crime thrillers, how he writes, and of course the most recent book, Dead In Three Two One.

Three Events

After that I’m off to Teignmouth in Devon, close to where all three of my children live. On 7 November it’s the very first Teignmouth Book Fest which takes place in the Pavilions. I’m on a panel with three other south west authors and also have a table where I can sell my books. It’s an action packed day of talks and workshops. So if you fancy an autumn day at the seaside…there’s a book fair from 10am to 2pm, followed by talks from 4pm to 7pm, and workshops taking place throughout the day.

The third event is on 15 December when I’m speaking to a book club in London that has 25 members. My schoolfriend Judith is a member and has put my book forward to feature for their Christmas party. Judith and I have been stretched trying to find something Christmassy about my book, but in the end we decided that I’d mention what Christmas might have been like in Austria under the Nazis and in occupied Czechoslovakia – both are countries where my story takes place. There will be pictures to come after all of these events, so watch this space!
